The Brief

A film and television production company needed its portfolio to feel like its medium. Static thumbnails flatten cinematic work, but autoplaying showreels bury it. 4Dolfins needed a site that could present formats, films, and series with the pacing of a title sequence — and stay fast while doing it.

The Approach

We leaned into darkness: a near-black canvas where stills and key art provide all the light, with motion used the way an editor uses a cut — sparingly, and always on purpose. The catalogue runs on a CMS so every new production slots into the same considered frame the moment it wraps.

The Outcome

The portfolio now screens rather than lists. Each project gets a presentation worthy of a premiere, commissioners can move from format to format without friction, and the company adds new work in minutes instead of redesign cycles.

The visual direction uses dark themes, high-contrast typography, and large imagery to create an immersive entertainment-focused experience. Structured grids, featured highlights, and modular sections allow each production and media mention to stand out while keeping the design consistent.
