The Brief
A Felixstowe freight forwarder running containers since 1974 had a site that said little about price or progress. Importers wanted a rate they could trust, sailing cut-offs they could plan around and a way to follow a box without phoning the desk, all from one team and not a queue.
The Approach
The hero is a live sentence: pick a container, a load port and a destination and the rate and next cut-off update in place over aerial terminal photography. Services, a filterable sailings table, a three-step rate request and a container tracker sit behind it in a calm, large-type layout.
The Outcome
A shipper can price a lane, see the next sailings, request a firm rate and track a container from one site, with a named desk and a phone number on every page. The site stays quick on a phone at the yard gate.
About the Project
The site includes Home, Services with a sample invoice for each of five services, Quote with a three-step rate request, Sailings with a filterable cut-off table, Track for container numbers and booking references, Company and Contact, plus Privacy and Terms pages.
The visual direction is plain and confident: a light fog page, ink and one rust-orange accent, Archivo in sentence case with IBM Plex Mono for container numbers, and aerial and quayside photography. The hero is a sentence you edit in place, and tabs, filters and accordions animate both ways.
Built as a fast static site in Astro with plain TypeScript, Norholm Freight keeps motion calm, respects reduced-motion settings and works on a phone at the yard gate. The rate, sailings, tracking and contact forms are built in.
