Photofolio is a photography portfolio website for a portrait, family, event and wedding photographer. The first screen is a contact sheet you can drag, and every page keeps the photographs as the interface.

The Brief

A photographer needed a site where the interface disappears. Photography sites fail in two directions: chrome that competes with the images, or minimalism so severe the work floats without context. The brief: photographs first, with just enough structure that a visitor can still find a service, a price and a way to book.

The Approach

We built a dark, quiet frame around the work. The home page opens on a contact sheet you can drag, then moves through a pinned statement, a gallery you move through sideways, four services and a film strip of how a shoot works. Every project is one real session, so a page never mixes light or people. Built with Astro, GSAP and Lenis.

The Outcome

The site behaves like a well-hung exhibition: the eye moves from image to image with nothing pulling at its sleeve. Services show a clear price and a one-page plan, projects open into a gallery that respects each photograph's shape, and the journal gives the practice a voice between commissions.

About the Project

Photofolio is a complete website for a portrait, family, event and wedding photographer, built with Astro and designed to put the photographs first. A dark, calm layout keeps the colour in the images, and nothing decorative competes with them.

The home page opens on a contact sheet you can drag, then moves through a pinned statement that changes rooms as you scroll, a gallery you move through sideways, four services with prices, a film strip showing how a shoot works, client notes and the journal.

Each of the thirteen projects is a single session, shown in a gallery that respects the shape of every photograph and opens into a lightbox. Services, About, Journal and Contact share one type system: Host Grotesk for headlines and Geist Mono for captions.

The site is fully responsive and built from structured content, so sessions, services and journal notes can be added without touching the layout.
